Hike Postponed

Hi all,
unfortunately, due to the bad weather we will have to postpone the hike. We will be having a normal meeting tonight at 6:45 and will end at 7:45 as usual.
YIS,
The Leaders.

Hi all,

Welcome back to the start of yet another year. We would like to bring you up to date with a few plans we have for the cubs over the next few weeks.

Next Wednesday 21st September (weather permitting), we will be climbing Bray Head as part of the nationwide fund raising campaign to “Climb a Hill for Jack and Jill” foundation. We would ask that each cub bring €5.00 as a donation instead of asking for sponsorship which we will forward onto the Charity. We will leave the car park at the Bray Head Hotel at our usual time of 6:45, and will return to the car park at 8:30. Hopefully we will reach the top to see the sunset! The cubs will need to bring a torch and warm clothes as it will be dark before we get back down.9

On Saturday 22nd October (to be confirmed), we hope to travel to Belfast to visit the Titanic Centre and take in an ice-hockey game at the Belfast Giants. We have made this trip over the last few years and it’s always a favourite. In the past we have hired a bus to take everyone, but because of costs we are going to try and do it this year by car. We already have a number of leaders and helpers who ca take 3 or 4 cubs per car, but to give us an idea of numbers, can you let one of the leaders know as soon as possible if you would like to go. The cost will be around €50, which includes Titanic, dinner in Pizza Hut, the game and a small contribution towards petrol for the drivers. We would be leaving Bray at about 9.00am and returning at midnight.

Our annual subscription for insurance and maintenance is due now. The fee this year is €135 per child, with a discount to €120 if you have more than one child in the group.  This is due by the end of October, if it helps the fee can be paid over a couple of weeks.

Between now and Halloween we are hoping to fit in a trip to one of the museums in Dublin, and a sleepover in the Den. All the details for any events or outings will be put up on this website. We will update it before next Wednesday to confirm the Bray Head climb once we know what the weather will be like.

YIS,

The Leaders.

First Meeting of the Year

Hi all,
It’s that time of the year again. We will be having our first night of the year tomorrow night at 6:45 (apologies for the short notice).
Yours in Scouting,
The Leaders.
