Wednesday 29th January

Hi all, Tonight we started off by mixing up Rory’s Rubiks Cube. Thankfully he was able to put it right again, and under 2 minutes. We did the roll and collected our subs Those of us doing the Chief Scouts Award went to the ward room to have a chat about what’s required and what we need to do for next week All the details on the Chief Scout Award can be found HERE The rest of us did some ropework, learning how to tie the Bowline knot. A bow line is a rope that holds the edge of a square sail towards the bow of the ship and into the wind. The bowline is used to make a loop at one end of a line. Click HERE for more information about the Bowline. We took the names of those going to the Belfast Giants and Titanic trip. We finished the night off with Land, Sea and Air and Ship Shore followed by Grand Howl. Yours in Scouting The Leaders

Wednesday 22nd January

Hi all,

This week we started off with some foot drill, thankfully the Christmas break did not dull our turns.

We split then into two groups, some of the older Cubs went with Rory, Heather and Emily to discuss the Chief Scout Award. The others started making snowballs with Karen and Adrienne.
Snowballs you say??? well newspaper snowballs, which resulted in a huge snowball fight.

We discussed this years hostel, we are hoping to go to the Newgrange Hostel the weekend of the 29th March.
More details to follow.

Wednesday 15 January

We’re back !!!

After the Christmas break we started back in Cubs.
We did a quick round the room to see what Santa brought us.
Thankfully everyone was good last year.

Lots of tablets were received, concert tickets, Lego, sweets and a metal detector which led to the discovery of a soldier’s body in Greystones.

But the best or most abstract pressie was Heather’s car insurance

After that we played bucket ball, which was great crack.
Niamh will be representing Ireland at the Brazil Olympics in Bucket Ball based on last night’s display.

We discussed the trip to Belfast (please check the note) did grand howl and went home.
