Wednesday 27th June

Our last meeting until September and what a good one.
Once again we were blessed to have such good weather for our paddling. That’s three night paddling and not a drop of rain (“,)

Everyone has now got out on the water and out on the rib and it’s great to see the Cubs having such a good time on the water.

A huge thanks again to the scouts and instructors who’ve helped us, Sarah, Robbie, David, Caitlin, Cormac, Aoife, Heather, Ben and Darryl. Without their help we wouldn’t have been able to get on the water.

So have a great summer, enjoy your holidays and we’ll see you all again in September.

Wednesday 13th June

What a great night on the water.

Again we were blessed with fine weather which makes canoeing even better fun.
All the Cubs are gaining in confidence on the water and showing great signs of being champion paddlers in the future.

We were lucky enough to be able to take Broadsword out and we had great fun zipping up and down along the beach waving at the stunned crowd.

A huge thanks to Ben and Cormac who made sure we were safe on the water and another huge thanks to Sarah who took us out in the “speedboat”

On the water 13th June

Please note that we are on the water next week unless you hear otherwise.
We will be meeting at the den at the earlier time of 6.40pm.

Please make sure you have all your gear especially footwear

Wednesday 6th June

This week we went over what we had learned for stage 1 of the paddling badge.

We then went through stage 2. Some of the things we need to know about are Weils Disease, how to put on our life jackets and the capsize drill.

For next week we have to go over stage 2 ourselves either using our books or the website.
We also need to draw or paint a poster which demonstrates the safety rules for swimming.

We then played arches and went home.
